Netflix is serving up a mix of thrillers, psychological dramas, and intense character studies this month. If you’re looking for your next edge of your seats viewing, let’s dive into three titles making we watched on Netflix this week: Retreat, Revelations, and Adolescence. Are they worth your time? Let’s find out.

Retreat

This one remains a bit of a mystery, with limited details floating around. If it has recently landed on Netflix, it might be one of those hidden gems waiting to be discovered—or, alternatively, one you’ll wish you never pressed play on. We were pleased to see Thandie Newton back on our small screens however not particularly sold on the acting.

Revelations

Revelations is a gripping South Korean thriller that dives deep into faith, morality, and justice. A pastor who believes he’s been chosen to punish wrongdoers and a detective who’s dealing with eerie visions while trying to crack a missing persons case. While the concept is solid, some viewers feel it doesn’t quite hit the high notes expected. Still, if you love psychological thrillers with a philosophical edge, it may be worth the watch.

Adolescence

This British limited series is a gut punch. It follows the unsettling story of 13-year-old Jamie, who is accused of murdering his classmate Katie. His dad—played by the phenomenal Stephen Graham —family left grappling with the unthinkable, questioning everything they thought they knew about their son. The show doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of modern teen life, tackling themes of bullying, online radicalization, and parental denial. The real kicker? The episodes are shot in real-time, one continuous take, making the experience even more immersive and raw. It’s haunting, thought-provoking, and will probably leave you staring at your screen long after the credits roll. Definitely our top pick this week

Final Verdict

  • Retreat – The jury’s still out. If you’ve watched it, spill the tea.
  • Revelations – Dark, intense, and psychological, but not without its flaws.
  • Adolescence – A must-watch if you can handle the emotional rollercoaster.
